Nature as inspiration

In celebration of B Corp Month, we've partnered with COAT Paints, a fellow British B Corp company, on a collection of lighting, hand-painted in colours drawn from a palette of earth, sea and sky. Just like our furniture and lighting, COAT Paints are made to endure materially and aesthetically.

There's a long tradition of painting brass, copper and tin (tole) lighting for domestic and public spaces. Coloured paint was used for decoration and identity, while white or silver paint was used to reflect light from within.

At Matthew Cox, we make pieces to serve an essential purpose, but our bold designs can also be the foundations for entire schemes, with our library of finishes able to transform and put them at the centre of any style. The collaboration with COAT Paints has already extended those possibilities and will no doubt create new ones!

This B Corp-inspired collaboration reflects our shared commitment to approaching everything we do with resonance and longevity in mind. As Rob Abrahams, COAT Paints co-founder says;

"Sustainability is at the heart of what we do at COAT, B Corp Certified since 2022 and the world’s first Climate Positive Paint company, we like to think of smarter solutions to a better world. This collaboration with Matthew Cox was such a natural one. We have a shared vision for unique product, made to order, built to last, which uses colour to tell a deeper story.”
