Our purpose is to learn and use what history can teach us about sustainable design – taking what we know about the future of materials, processes and communication, to change the way people consume and hasten the healing of our planet.
This commitment to nature is the purpose that propels us. In writing, it might sound lofty, but we're practising it every day. It means we challenge how we do things – looking to the past or future for better ways to work with clients and with nature.
We revisit construction methods (to make them stronger) and design details (to make them timeless) and we question how we wrap, pack and ship all the time. We strive to work with suppliers and shippers who truly understand our goals and we're even getting better at fine art of composting. We like to work with B Corp companies like FreightBrokers who provide 200% climate positive shipping for our packages.
Nothing ever feels like quite enough, but we're making purposeful steps in the right direction. See our supplier code of conduct here and our environmental policy here.
Our furniture is designed and made to become more beautiful over time.
Our reverence for nature is where it all starts.
Using natural or recycled materials give us the best chance to repair or reuse. Our 100 year plan means we're committed to finding ways to extend the life of every piece we make.
We're lucky to work with clients who support our environmental goals. We use both traditional and innovative design and construction methods to achieve the best quality for our clients' commissions.
