Living freely

The living island invites life, is alive with practical design possibilities, and will live to serve new purposes over time. This is what we hope for all our pieces, and how we believe all design should be approached – to be perennially usable, practically and aesthetically versatile, and covetable.

Designing and making freestanding pieces is fundamental to our approach and central to our one-hundred-year plan. When we take on any work, we consider not just the purpose furniture serves today, but the life it will lead well into the future.

The preparation tables and islands we make are proper pieces of furniture. They may anchor a room, but they're far from anchored, and it's our aim that they will serve numerous people and purposes over the piece's lifetime.
