EASTERN PARADISE
House and Garden Blog October 2012
"For those in the market for decorative antiques outside of the glow of the Lillie Road, there is a spot of good news. Matthew Cox, an antique dealer well know for his dramatic roomsets and large-scale finds, such as street lamps and station clocks, is due to open a showroom in Lincolnshire.
"That his finger is firmly on the pulse is testified by his knack for catching the eye of hip corporate stylists, from brands like Anthropologie and the Soho House group, to restaurants like Jamie's Italian. His look - hulking, decorative - has been honed in his London showroom, in the homes of private buyers in New York and London, and at the Battersea Decorative Arts and Textiles Fair. So it seems timely to return to his hometown of Stamford, Lincolnshire, for the new showroom. It looks to be an unabashedly moody, even gothic space, open by appointment from now on."
